🇺🇦 Ukrainian citizens: UKR status and temporary protection

  • If you have a PESEL number with UKR status, your stay in Poland is legal until 4 March 2027. The extension is automatic – no application needed.
  • The European Union extended temporary protection until 4 March 2028. New protection since 5.08.2026 is only for people who have fulfilled their military obligations; this does not apply to people protected continuously since before 4.08.2026.
  • Note – not final: UdSC pages (as of 26.10.2026) still say UKR status is valid until 4.03.2027. There is no clear information yet on how Poland will implement the extension to 2028. Follow announcements of the Office for Foreigners (UdSC).
